Examination Overview

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the examination content
  • Establishing eligibility criteria
  • Setting examination fees
  • Determining the passing score for the Medication Aide Examination for Adult Care Facilities

Examination Format

  • The examination consists of 60 multiple-choice questions
  • All questions are presented in the English language
  • The exam is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills required of a medication aide in adult care settings

Online Proctoring

  • The examination is administered with live online proctoring provided by Credentia
  • A proctor (an individual who supervises examinations) will monitor the entire exam session via your workstation's webcam

Retesting Policy

  • There is no limit to the number of times a candidate may take the examination
