Welcome and congratulations on your decision to take the North Carolina Medication Aide Examination for Adult Care Facilities.
This handbook is intended for candidates seeking to be listed on the Medication Aide Registry for Adult Care Facilities. Candidates are commonly referred to as “Med Techs.”
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has partnered with Credentia, a nationally recognized leader in assessment services for regulatory agencies, to:
- Administer the examination
- Score and report examination results
- Process applications
- Schedule examination appointments
Note: This examination does not qualify a candidate to work in a nursing home.
The Adult Care Medication Aide Examination
The examination is specifically designed to fulfill the medication aide evaluation requirements as set forth by North Carolina state laws and regulations.
The purpose of the examination is to test that you can understand and safely perform the job of an entry-level medication aide in an adult care facility.
